CoinMarketCap Releases a Bitcoin and Ethereum-Oriented Block Explorer Platform

  • CoinMarketCap has launched new block explorers for Bitcoin and Ethereum.
  • Block explorers also feature detailed analysis information.

CoinMarketCap, the leading cryptocurrency data portal, has rolled out a proprietary block explorer dedicated to the two largest cryptos in market value, Bitcoin and Ethereum. Tweeting about it, the giant site known for providing real-time data on day-to-day cryptocurrency prices, rate fluctuations and market caps of different coins, elicited a series of exciting Replies and Retweets.

Bitcoin and Ethereum with their millions and millions of followers from across the world, getting such honor from many people’s de facto data portal understandably isn’t ordinary. The two also are the face of the crypto industry, perhaps the reason why CoinMarketCap has dedicated them a special block explorer.

What the Block Explorer is all about

The new Block Explorer isn’t in any way the first in the industry, although the fact that it is coming from CoinMarketCap means it can’t be overlooked. And if you’ve explored any of the available ones before, then you possibly have an idea of how this new one looks like or how it functions.

First, upon opening it, the first things you are met with are overview information regarding the two cryptocurrencies. Part of the data on the Explorer is their respective market values, the number of coins each presently has in circulation, their ongoing hash-rate and lots of other information.

Interestingly, reports state that users of this platform might access special information on the two coins ahead of the rest of the public.

Via the Block Explorer, it is reported that they will be informed about specific addresses, the balances each has, and the accounts’ incoming and outgoing transactions, amounts transacted and fees. They’ll also be updated on how each of the Blockchain is fairing on.

A little glimpse of it

A little look at this Block Explorer while writing this post revealed a fascinating picture of the two cryptocurrencies. There’s a search bar where you could search transactions, blocks, addresses or pretty much anything about either Blockchain or Ethereum. It is quite straightforward and the results take less than a minute!

But that’s not as exciting as seeing live data regarding the two. Bitcoin’s market cap at the time of writing was $137.74 billion, while that of Ethereum was $25.98 billion. You could click on either of them and get deeper analysis, including information about blocks and transactions that just happened.

Of all that’s coined under each of the cryptocurrencies, however, you will be surprised to see millions of dollars’ worth of transactions in BTC or Ethereum. And it gets even more unbelievable that some take place before your eyes when you are on the site!

Everything aside, however, Block Explorer is a neat, friendly and easy-to-use platform. It has no clutter or annoying ads and popups and you can either view it in English or Mandarin.

Meanwhile, CoinMarketCap joins the fight against ‘cooked’ trading volumes

The launch of this Block Explorer platform by CoinMarketCap is coming at a time when the fight against misleading trading volumes is on a high.

This large crypto data hub has joined in this fight, which was started by some of the largest crypto exchanges. The team also has Binance, the planet’s biggest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume.
